Tusker FC, a team in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, has officially announced the signing of Eric Balecho from Murang’a Seal. Balecho is the latest addition to the former Premier League champions as they bolster their squad in preparation for the upcoming season.
“Tusker Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of winger Eric Naaman Balecho from Murang’a Seal FC on a one-year contract, effective immediately.
“Balecho, an alumnus of Cheza Sports Academy and Mount Kenya University, arrives with a commendable reputation for his skillful play and versatility, having impressed during his tenure in Murang’a. His addition is expected to bolster Tusker FC’s attacking prowess significantly,” the club stated in their announcement.
The club’s Chief Executive Officer, Sam Nzau, explained why they signed the highly-rated forward, who was a key figure for Seal in their debut season in the top flight.
“We are delighted to welcome Balecho to our team. His speed, technical ability, and tactical awareness make him a valuable asset as we prepare for the new season.
“The coaches picked him out as one who would suit perfectly into their philosophy, and as the management, we did everything we could to land his signature,” Nzau said.
After completing his move, Balecho, who was a target of other clubs, revealed why he chose the Ruaraka outfit.
“I am thrilled to be joining such a prestigious club with a strong tradition of success. I look forward to contributing to the team’s ambitions and achieving great things together. Personally, it is a great leap and a challenge I am willing to take on,” he stated.
Tusker have already begun their pre-season programme and when the 2024/25 season begins, they will hope to end Gor Mahia’s dominance. In the past two campaigns, Gor Mahia won the title, with Tusker somewhat struggling to give stiff competition.
“As the club gears up for the new season, Tusker FC extends its warmest greetings to Naaman Balecho and wishes him every success in his journey with the club,” the Brewers said.
They have already signed Jacob Onyango, a striker, from Sofapaka.
