A homeless youth approached Geoffrey Mosiria, the head of Nairobi County’s Citizen Engagement and Customer Care Department, with a humble request for Christmas clothes.

In a statement shared via his X account on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Mosiria explained that he met the young man while on duty in Nairobi’s Central Business District, engaging with residents on various service delivery issues and listening to both complaints and compliments.

“Leo pale Nikiwa pale CBD, while on duty overseeing service delivery and engaging with wananchi through both complaints and compliments, I met this young man who courageously shared with me the challenges he goes through as a person living on the streets.

He humbly requested only one thing: a new set of clothes for the festive season. I was glad to honour his request, and beyond that, I promised to help him find a place where he can engage in casual work and get paid as a starting point toward a new life. Sometimes, all it takes to change a life is a listening ear, a kind heart, and the willingness to act,” Mosiria said.

He promised to help the youth find casual work, offering a first step toward financial independence and a chance to rebuild his life.

Man researching on Ruto

This latest incident comes a day after Mosiria helped another homeless man in the CBD.

In a post shared on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, he explained that he met a man who normally sleeps near the Kenya Power offices and appeared to be experiencing mental health challenges requiring urgent medical attention.

“Tonight, I met a man in the CBD who normally sleeps next to the Kenya Power offices. He was on the street and appears to be experiencing mental health challenges that require urgent medical attention,” Mosiria wrote.

He urged the public to help locate the man’s family. “If anyone recognises him or knows his family, especially from Western Kenya, kindly reach out so that we may help reunite him with his loved ones,” Mosiria added.

He also revealed plans to have the man admitted to a mental health facility. “I will be taking him to Mathari Mental Hospital to help him access proper treatment and care,” Mosiria said.

Upon speaking with him, the man explained that he came to Nairobi from Western Kenya out of curiosity and to research President William Ruto.
