A 24-year-old woman suspected of killing Kilifi County Chief Officer for Fisheries and Blue Economy Rahab Karisa was arraigned at the Malindi Law Courts on Thursday, August 17.
Diana Naliaka appeared before Malindi Chief Magistrate James Mwaniki following the completion of investigations into the death of Karisa.
Mwaniki ordered the suspect to undergo a mental assessment test to enable her to plead to the murder charges.
” l hereby order that the suspect be taken to Malindi sub-county hospital to undergo mental assessment test,” he said.
Naliaka is facing charges of murdering her employer after they differed over her delayed payment.
Two weeks ago, the suspect confessed that she had murdered her employer after the duo allegedly argued over her payment after the official’s arrival from Italy.
Naliaka was arrested by detectives in Bungoma county, three weeks ago as she tried to sneak into Uganda.
The matter will be mentioned on August 31.
