Renowned singer Jacob Obunga alias Otile Brown has acknowledged the role played by socialite Vera Sidika in advancing his career during their romantic relationship.
In an interview with Oga Obinna, Otile expressed his gratitude towards the socialite, recognising her contribution to his success in the music industry.
Otile highlighted the impact of Sidika’s presence in his life during their time together, citing it as an important factor in shaping his career trajectory.
Although their romantic involvement ended after five months in 2018, Brown revealed his career continued to flourish as he pursued his musical aspirations with determination.
“Vera boosted my career. I was big but after she came into my life, she expanded it. I will always give her, her flowers.”
Amid public perceptions, Brown reaffirmed his authenticity, stating, “I’m not a kiki person. I am an introvert and so I don’t shout too much because I believe in my craft because I know who I am. Whatever was happening at that time, it was organically bro, it was just happening,” explained Brown.
In a previous interview with Wasafi Media, Otile disclosed that it was Sidika who initially pursued him.
“People do not know but I have never seduced Vera. She is the one who looked for me. She used to call me and I wasn’t picking her calls. I’ve never desired her and neither had I followed up on her, it was all her. I have no reason to lie about this. I have been quiet about all this for a pretty long time,” he revealed.
Reflecting on the aftermath of their public breakup, Brown admitted to adopting a more guarded approach to his personal life on social media.
“The whole situation broke my heart. I learnt to be keen and keep quiet so that people don’t use it against me if anything happens in that relationship. For some reason, many relationships end badly,” he reflected.
Vera, a single mother of two after her romance with another musician failed to stand the test of time, featured in Baby Love, one of Brown’s popular hits with 18 million YouTube views.
