I have no plans to pay for Twitter Blue – Larry Madowo declares

Media personality Larry Madowo has made it clear that is not ready to pay to keep his verification badge on Twitter.

In a tweet, Madowo said that he had received notifications from Twitter. alerting him that his badge will soon disappear.

He also mentioned that his employer CNN will not pay the verification fee to keep their blue badge.

Since Elon Musk took over Twitter as the new owner – he introduced new changes and now users will have to pay Sh1060 to keep or buy new verification badges.

“I have no plans to pay for Twitter Blue at this time and neither does CNN.

“Twitter says my blue checkmark will soon disappear – after 12 years of being verified.

“Anyone will be able to create an account in my name and get it verified for $8. What could possibly go wrong?,” Larry Madowo wrote.

Madowo has joined the list of other public figures who have already declared that they will not pay Twitter to keep their verification badges.

On Friday, NBA superstar Lebron James also declared that he was not going to pay for Twitter verification.

“Well guess my blue ✔ will be gone soon ’cause if you know me I ain’t paying the 5,” LeBron tweeted on Friday evening.

Four months ago Elon Musk announced major changes to his social media platform. He stated that come April 1st, 2023 any “legacy” account that wanted to keep its blue verification badge would have to pay a monthly fee with a few exceptions to major companies.
