In a candid revelation during his Netflix reality show, The Bahati’s Empire, musician Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, opened up about the specific qualities he sought in a wife before marrying Diana Marua.

“Two things. One, she had to be saved. Second, she had to be older than me. Somehow, just to confess, I love my women older,” Bahati said.

The couple have an age difference of six years, with Diana being older.

In a heartfelt moment on the show, Bahati also revealed the difficult circumstances of his childhood that led him to be placed in a children’s home despite having a living father.

“I lost my mother when I was seven years old. My father remarried and moved out of town. That is how I ended up at ABC Kenya Children’s Home. I studied there and when I was in Standard Eight, I got a call… All this time I had never seen my father. But I got a call to go and bury him,” an emotional Bahati said.

Bahati and Diana’s relationship has always fascinated fans, often because of their openness about the unconventional aspects of their union.

Despite the odds, their bond has only grown stronger over time.

When asked about his love for Diana, Bahati couldn’t help but smile as he reflected on the profound impact she has had on his life.

“She used to take care of her family, she’s the older sister and it’s like she’s the one who raised the younger ones. Because I’m an orphan, the moment I wanted to start a family, I wanted someone who could create a space for a life I never had before,” he said in a previous interview.

Diana and Bahati have three children. The couple is also raising two other children, one from his previous relationship and his adopted son.
