Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary (CS) Florence Bore now says she had to vacate the controversial house in Karen at night due to her work schedule.

Bore was embroiled in a heated dispute with Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Edward Muriu over the Ksh120 million mansion nestled within the prestigious Amara Ridge.

Speaking to the press, the CS says she was able to secure another house within an hour and terms the incident ‘…a blessing in disguise.”

“He gave me a refund of my 10 per cent deposit and that’s when I vacated. There is a question of why I moved out at night and it’s because I was working. I worked until 9 PM. I searched for a house and within an hour, I found a new home. Very new,” she stated.

The CS had been accused of trying to take over the palatial home forcefully after her alleged initial bid was rejected.

“The female CS is even using the police to execute the grabbing of the plot. Scores of officers have been deployed to guard her as she forcibly occupies the house,” Ms Muriu said.

According to Mrs Muriu, the house in Amara Ridge, Karen, is registered under her and her husband although they had placed it on the market”.

The CS, according to Mrs Muriu, placed a Ksh90 million bid, Ksh30 million short of what the couple was willing to take.

“It was two weeks ago when she came to my home and gave us an offer of Ksh90 million. I told her the least I could take was Ksh120 million and she left,” Mrs Murio said.

Mrs Muriu said the CS Bore took advantage of their travel abroad to attend the graduation ceremony of their daughter.

“When we came back on Wednesday I asked my people to go and undertake renovations in the house but to my shock, the house was illegally occupied,” Ms Muriu said.

Bore however maintains that she had signed her part of the agreement and says the matter would have been solved more amicably.
