Nurse Judy has explained why she is never worried about her house helps leaving, saying she pays them like they are working in State House.
She made the remarks on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, while reacting to conversations about employers fearing their housekeepers may not return after time away.
She said she had been observing the discussions with calm confidence.
“Been seeing the shenanigans za how people were worried if their househelp will come back while I was very much at peace,” Nurse Judy stated.
According to her, that peace comes from how she treats and pays the people who work in her home.

“Like very deep down I know hakuna pahali wangu anaeza enda unless mwenyewe ni mfukuze,” she said.
Nurse Judy stressed that fair pay is the main reason her house helps stay.
“I pay them as if they are working in a state house!” she said.
She gave details about her current house help and the decision she made last year. She explained that in August, she increased the worker’s salary by a large amount.
“Nilimwongezea salary by 35k Kenya shillings,” she said.
Fair pay over convenience
Nurse Judy explained that the raise came after her housekeeper chose to work alone. She said the worker did not want to share duties with another person.
“She said hataki wakue wawili,” Nurse Judy noted.
Instead of forcing the arrangement, she adjusted the salary.
“So I gave her a top up ya 35k ya ksh,” she said, adding that she also gives extra money from time to time.
She went on to compare the pay to other professions in the country.

“My househelp earns better than a Nurse in any private hospital in Kenya,” Nurse Judy said.
She described herself as a supportive and fair employer.
“Im a good boss, like extremely good,” she said, making it clear she values people who work with her.
Nurse Judy added that she believes respect goes beyond payment. She said she has always been someone people enjoy working with.
“I’m the type you wanna work with as an employer, employee or colleague,” she explained.
She insisted this approach is not new to her.
“Have always been!” she said, stressing consistency in how she treats others.
