Kenya Police’s David Owino won the Most Valuable Player award as the FKF Cup season concluded on Saturday at Ulinzi Complex. Owino was instrumental in helping his team secure their first-ever major trophy since their promotion. His exceptional performance throughout the tournament earned him this prestigious accolade.

Kenya Police had a triumphant outing in the FKF Cup final, securing their first major trophy since being promoted and earning a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup for the next season. The final, held at Ulinzi Sports Complex, ended in a goalless draw, leading to a thrilling penalty shootout which Kenya Police won 8-7 against KCB FC.
Patrick Matasi, the goalkeeper for Kenya Police, was pivotal throughout the tournament, keeping four clean sheets and playing heroically in the final. He not only saved penalties during the shootout but also scored the winning penalty himself, which earned him a humanitarian cheque worth Ksh100,000. As a result of his outstanding performance, Matasi was awarded both the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper and the Man of the Match in the final.
Arthur Gitego from AFC Leopards clinched the Golden Boot award for scoring five goals in the competition, despite his team finishing third overall. Kenya Police’s David Owino was recognized as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his crucial contributions to the team’s success.
In addition to their Confederation Cup qualification, Kenya Police will receive a cash prize of Ksh2 million from the cup’s sponsors, further cementing their historic achievement in Kenyan football.
