Inooro TV presenter Mike Njenga took to Instagram on Monday, October 12, to pay tribute to Leonard Mbugua Kagai.

He posted the moving tribute on the same day Kagai was buried at his family home in Njiku, Kiambu County.

How did Njenga honour Leonard?

Sharing a memorial graphic bearing Leonard’s name and the words Rest in Peace, Njenga wrote:

“My Chairman, my friend may you rest in peace.”

The post, uploaded via his handle @mikenjenga, offered no further details about the nature of their relationship, but the warmth of the words made clear this was no casual acquaintance.

Leonard’s funeral service was held on Monday morning at ACK St Luke’s Muthurwa Church from 10 am, with burial at the family home in Njiku from 2 pm.

He is survived by a wide circle of family, including siblings, children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Prior to the funeral, daily meetings had been held at his Njiku home from 5pm.

Tributes pour in for Leonard

Those who knew Leonard beyond his family connection to Njenga painted a picture of a man deeply committed to his craft.
