Influencer Irene Nekesa, once best known as Diana Marua and Bahati’s househelp, has taken the internet by storm after sharing an emotional, on-location tour of her brand-new mansion.
In the YouTube video filmed on a sunny Sabbath morning, Irene stands before the property’s gate alongside a cameraman who pans around the compound to capture its full scale.
The footage reveals a spacious home complete with a balcony, clean boundary walls and a well-maintained exterior that left many viewers stunned.
From Bedsitter to mansion
The video quickly struck a chord with Kenyans because of how far Irene has come. After leaving her role as a domestic worker in one of Kenya’s most high-profile celebrity households, she started building her life from scratch, at one point living in a modest bedsitter. Her current home represents a dramatic turn in fortunes.
Dressed simply and speaking directly to the camera, Irene could barely hold back her emotions as she approached the gate.
“Mungu akisema anatenda,” she said, meaning when God speaks, He acts.
She knelt on the ground in prayer before walking viewers through the property, repeatedly breaking into laughter mixed with tears.

Beyond the house tour, much of the video was dedicated to gratitude. Irene called out supporters by name, including clients who had hired her through her cooking and house manager services, advertisers who had partnered with her channel, and followers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, the UK and Australia who had cheered her on from a distance.
She also acknowledged several people who had supported her financially and professionally, including one supporter based in the US who had on one occasion simply told her to board a flight to Austria, covering the costs without hesitation.
“God is good all the time,” she repeated throughout the clip, urging viewers who had been praying for her to receive the same blessings in return.
Irene also used the moment to address her brief absence from social media, reassuring fans that going quiet did not mean things had gone wrong.
“Ukiona mtu amenyamaza kidogo mwache atulie,” she said, advising followers to give people space when they step back, as they may simply be planning their next move.
The video has resonated deeply online, with many Kenyans drawing inspiration from her story as proof that humble beginnings do not determine one’s destination.
