Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga has joined the Linda Mwananchi tour, confirming that she will accompany Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to Kakemega.
Omanga declared her stand in a statement posted on her social media platforms on Thursday, February 19, 2026, noting that the initiative is in the interest of all Kenyans.
“It’s about the people,” the former senator declared, sharing a poster showing her among other leaders who are expected to camp in Kakamega on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Omanga recently announced that she will be vying for the Nairobi Woman Representative position without confirming the party that she will use in her bid.
“Many people have been asking what my plan is for 2027. I will be on the ballot for the Nairobi Women Representative position. I will be with my people. I hear you, and we are together in this,” Omanga stated on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Race to succeed Passaris
Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, who attended President William Ruto’s meeting with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants at State House, is also in the race.
Others lining up with the hope of succeeding incumbent Esther Passaris are activist Hanifa Adan, social media personality Corazon Kwamboka and blogger Maverick Aoko who have declared interest in the seat.
Warming up to the Linda Mwananchi rally signals a major shift in her political journey, coming at a time when leaders opposed to Ruto’s bid for a second term are coalescing around the political formation with a series of rallies.
The Kakamega rally comes days after the firebrand politicians addressed a huge rally in Kitengela, marking another significant development in the political landscape.
Edwin Sifuna’s assurance
The rally saw the ODM faction opposed to the party backing Ruto’s reelection bid flex its muscles in a spectacular display of political might.
Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has vowed not to disappoint Kenyans who have continued to shower him with love ahead of the rally in Kakamega.
Sifuna, who teamed up with Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and Governor James Orengo to pull a show-stopping rally that sent jitters across the political landscape, said he felt the love and reaffirmed his commitment never to disappoint those who believe in his political journey in a statement on his Facebook account on Monday, February 16, 2026.
“Wale mlikua Nyayo 7s I have no words bana ni kusema tu ahsante. I felt the love na mjue sitawaangusha. God bless,” Sifuna stated on Monday, February 16, 2026.
