Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has updated his followers on his health a month after undergoing surgery for an Achilles tendon injury.

In a video he shared on his Insta stories, the MP is seen holding his crutches citing that he was fully healed and eagerly awaiting the doctors’ report.

“Getting better. Actually fully healed, waiting for the doctors’ report,” Jalang’o shared.

Jalang’o injured during basketball training

Jalang’o had undergone surgery last month due to an Achilles tendon injury sustained during a Bunge basketball training session.

He shared the details of his medical journey and expressed gratitude to all who supported him.

“Last Tuesday during our morning Bunge basketball training, I had an accident that tore my Achilles tendon. I underwent reconstructive surgery and am now back home, commencing the 6-week recovery journey,” he shared.

He expressed his gratitude to those who sent well wishes and visited him during his stay at the Nairobi Hospital.

Jalang’o also appreciated the medical team at the hospital, particularly acknowledging Atinga and the entire staff for their exceptional care and hospitality.

“We might be down but not out! Our capable Lang’ata team will handle constituency matters closely monitored by myself. Asanteni saana!” he added.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Achilles tendon injuries can be debilitating, often requiring surgical intervention for a full recovery.

The Achilles tendon, connecting the calf muscles to the heel bone, plays a crucial role in walking and running. Injuries to this tendon can lead to significant discomfort and reduced mobility.
