Embattled Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwour aka Jalang’o has expressed confidence in winning a second election.

In an interview with media personality Willis Raburu, the first-time parliamentarian who was recently expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party suggested it would be foolish of him to resign.

“There is no Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct elections so why would I resign and maybe the team will be formed in 2026?” he posed.

The youthful Jalang’o also insisted he did not do anything wrong in meeting President William Ruto, and resigning would be a validation of his ‘wrongdoings.’

Going down memory lane, Jalang’o explained when President Ruto visited Lang’ata for the first time, he was accompanied by the area’s former MP Nixon Korir.

That in itself was fodder for gossip with many questioning why the area MP (Jalang’o) was not around at a meeting aimed at initiating development for the residents.

However, the second time the Head of State visited the constituency to launch the affordable houses, Jalang’o claims that he called his party leader Raila Odinga to enquire whether he should go or not.

“This time Korir had no chance to talk since I was there. Dr Ruto goes to Kisumu and meets other MPs, he is received nicely and even gets gifts plus dines with the leaders from that area. A week or two later, President Ruto called me and told me that he needed me in the State House. I go and find other leaders there and apparently, he had called quite a number only those showed up,” he recalls.

Up to that point, Jalang’o noted that it did not feel wrong because leaders from the opposition had been meeting the president. The moment photos went viral it is when hell broke loose.

“When I joined the parliamentary group meeting in Maanzoni, I was beaten up. I tried reaching out to understand what I had done wrong no one was responding. I could no longer attend ‘Baba’s events.”
