Chacha, a former K24 journalist and current Communications Adviser to Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, has earned his wings, fulfilling a dream he carried from childhood through a career that took him in very different directions first.

“Once, the sky was a dream. Today, it is my view,” he captioned the images, distilling years of aspiration into a single line.
He also described the journey as going “from looking up at the sky to seeing the world from above it.”
Who is Joel Chacha?
Before aviation, Chacha built a reputation in Kenya’s media industry as a political and parliamentary reporter at K24.
That grounding in journalism eventually led him into strategic communications and public service, where he has applied his understanding of media to shape government messaging.
His current role advising CS Mutahi Kagwe places him at the intersection of agriculture policy and public communication, a far cry from the press gallery but rooted in the same instinct for clear, purposeful storytelling.
Beyond government work, Chacha has pursued interests in business, agribusiness and exports alongside his wife, Ellen Muthama, building a life that extends well beyond any single professional identity.
What makes his aviation achievement particularly striking is how personal it is.
