Journalist Nick Mudimba died after collapsing at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on Sunday evening.

His employer, CGTN confirmed the journalist’s death.

Further reports indicate that Mudimba, who also had a stint at KTN and Switch TV, was undergoing treatment after he developed health complications, including high uric acid levels.

According to his family, the famed journalist took his prescribed medication, only for him to collapse and begin convulsing.

Mudimba later died at home and his body taken to a morgue in Syokimau.

He was passionate about sports, with his last tweets rallying Kenyans to fill up Nyayo Stadium ahead of the Gambia fixture.

“Let’s fill Nyayo Stadium on Sunday. Gambia must fall. There’s something about this Harambee Stars team,” he posted on X on March 21, 2025.

His colleagues in the media industry shared their thoughts on social media, mourning the late Mudimba.

“Death, Why are you so cruel? Eternal rest grant unto Nick Mudimba oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen,” posed journalist Mashirima Kapombe.
