Journalists were caught up in the middle of a clash between protesters in Kibera and police who were trying to contain them.

Police were forced to lob teargas at protesters in Kibera to stop a group that was heading towards the Central Business District (CBD) for the demonstrations called by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance.

Chaos ensued at the junction that leads to Katwekera where a large contingent of anti-riot police gathered to repel protesters from making their way to the CDB.

The demonstrators were irked by the police who stopped them from going towards town for the Azimio demos.

Police are currently involved in running battles with the protesters as they try to contain them within Kibera while the Azimio supporters push back in a bid to make their way to the CBD.

Journalists covering the confrontation were caught up in the middle of the ensuing clash. The irate protesters threw stones at the journalists and police officers.
