Julius Irungu, the father of murder convict Jowie Irungu, passed away on Saturday at the age of 64 while receiving treatment at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital Annex. According to his wife, Anne Thama, Julius had been battling cancer, though she did not specify the type.
His health had seen him frequently in and out of the hospital until his death.
Anne Thama expressed her grief but was unable to share many details due to the emotional toll of the loss. Julius Irungu, along with his wife and daughter, had been present at many of Jowie’s court hearings. Jowie Irungu was convicted of the murder of 28-year-old Monica Kimani.
