Justice David Majanja has been re-elected to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) as a representative of the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) under Article 171 (2) (d) of the Constitution.

In the recent elections, he led with 81 votes, outpacing Justice James Olola who garnered 47 votes and Justice Joram Abuodha who received nine votes. This marks Justice Majanja’s second term on the JSC; he was first elected on May 14, 2019, succeeding Judge Aggrey Muchelule.

Justice Majanja’s judicial career began in 2011 when he was appointed as a Judge of the High Court.

He currently serves at the Milimani Civil Division. During his first term on the JSC, he contributed significantly as the Chairperson of the Human Resource Management Committee and as a member of both the Audit and Governance and Risk Management Committees, as well as the Learning and Development Committee.

His educational background includes attending the Hill School in Eldoret and Alliance High School. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi. Prior to his judicial appointment, he gained extensive legal experience working with Mohammed and Muigai Advocates, Onyango and Ohaga Advocates, and later founding Majanja Luseno and Company Advocates in 2007.
