An arbitration court has ordered Juventus to pay former striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, around €9.8 million ($10.46m) in owed wages.

The Serie A side on Wednesday, confirmed they are reviewing the decision.

Ronaldo, who now plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, had claimed he was owed around €19.5m ($20.81m) of outstanding wages by Juve, relating to a pay cut agreed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The arbitration board … ascertained the validity of [Ronaldo’s] compensation reduction agreement in relation to the 2020/21 sporting season,” Juventus said in a statement.

The arbitration tribunal ruled that the Italian giants have to pay half of the money demanded by the 39-year-old.

Ronaldo signed for Juventus in August 2018 and helped the club win two consecutive Serie A titles, an Italian Cup and two Super Cups, before leaving Italy to join Manchester United in 2021.
