Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has backed Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition MPs on their stance opposing the Affordable Housing Bill, 2023 passed by the National Assembly this week.

Kalonzo said  the Azimio leaders showed that they were in touch with public sentiment with a majority of Kenyans affected by what they called over-taxation by the Kenya Kwanza regime.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Maiyu Wanzili, mother of former Mwingi County Council chairman Musyoka Wa Maiyu, the Wiper boss said that as Azimio, they will continue sensitizing Kenyans across the country on the same.

“Waheshimiwa wa Wiper in the National Assembly and in the Senate nawatolea kofia. Mmeonyesha msimamo, kwanza umoja wenu, kama viongozi ambao mmepatiwa mamlaka na chama cha Wiper,” he said.

“Honourable MPs, you made us proud…I’m your party leader. Mlionekana pale mkapigwa picha mmekasirika because you have been on the side of the Kenyan people over this high taxation…round two of impossible taxes…mzigo ambao wananchi hawatavumilia, nyinyi mkatoka mkijuwa pengine wao watapitisha tu.”

He added: “We want to see similar commitment at every county…And if you’re going to waste more of our time, we will call you out…we’ll call you out…tutawaita na tutawataja.”
