KCB RFC sevens head coach Andrew Amonde has urged his charges to remain focused ahead of the second meet of the National Sevens Circuit, if they are to maintain their perfect start to the sevens season.

The bankers launched their sevens campaign with a win in the opening Dala 7s last weekend and now have their sights firmly on the Driftwood Sevens this weekend at the Mombasa Sports Club.

“It was a good win for us; a good start to the campaign and a good momentum builder for the team. The big thing for us is that everybody is firm and ready for the next moment and we will keep on the same winning spirit.”

The former Shujaa captain has been tasked to lead the transition on the team, bringing in his tones of experience gained from playing at the top national and club level, and that shone brilliantly in Kisumu as his side boasted of proper blend of youth and experience.

Amonde says this will be crucial for the team going deep into the circuit season

“It’s been a good balance for us; getting to mix the seniors with the young guys who are coming up but we still have to carry that throughout,” he said.

KCB downed sworn rivals Kabras RFC in the Dala 7s final to claim the first tournament of the circuit and head to Mombasa in high spirits.

They will however have to first deal with the task of getting out of the group stage, in a pool that consists of Dala 7s Challenge Trophy winners Nondescripts, Blak Blad and Nakuru RFC.
