Police in Makueni County are detaining a Kenya Defense Force (KDF) who allegedly assaulted a man identified as Samson Musembi, accusing him of having an extra-marital affair with his wife.

The officer, identified as Vincent Muinde Malile, 43, who is based in Nanyuki Barracks in the company of Nicolas Kali, 31, allegedly nabbed the victim and started assaulting him.

Musembi, 25, was tied using a manila rope and was escorted by the duo to Makueni Police Station and he was bleeding profusely.

“They arrested and tied one male adult known as Samson Musembi using a manila rope and escorted to Makueni police station on the allegation that the said person was found having extramarital affairs with the wife of the said KDF officer at Shimo area,” the police report read in part.

According to the report, Musembi was seriously assaulted and had deep cuts on the face and head, plus he was bleeding profusely.

Officers also realised that the victim suffered more injuries in his private part as he was cut using cactus thorns.

Police say that he is currently fighting for his life at the Makueni County Referral Hospital while the two suspects are still in police custody.

Makueni County police boss informed the KDF Military in Nanyuki that the officer is supposed to be picked up by his colleagues before the court process begins.

Those who witnessed the incident said that the duo cornered Musembi and started beating him up as they accused him of having a love affair with the officer’s wife.

He told them that he had never engaged in the said affair with the woman, and the officer started assaulting him.

Currently, sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating the matter and will record a statement from Musembi today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
