KDF Officer Arrested Over Murder Of Man Who Was Blindfolded And Assaulted As Seen In Viral Video

A Kenya Defence Force (KDF) officer has been arrested in Homa Bay County for allegedly participating in the brutal murder of a 30-year-old man at Sino village in Rachuonyo South Sub County.
The KDF officer reportedly collaborated with two other men to murder a man identified as Collins Okiro.

The arrest follows a video footage of Okiro that has been circulating on social media platforms when he was being assaulted before his brutal murder, in the video.

Okiro’s eyes were blindfolded using a red piece of cloth that was tied on his face towards the back of his head.

Rachuonyo South Sub- County Police Commander Lilies Wachira says the KDF officer who was in company of his brother and another man went to Okiro’s house at Sino village on April 7 and convinced him to leave with them to a destination that was not clear to his wife.

Wachira says the KDF officer and two other suspects who are still at large went with the deceased to secluded thicket in the area where they assaulted him to death.

Okiro’s wife identified the KDF officer and his brother days later after his murder this made officers from Oyugis police station to start hunting the suspects until they arrested the KDF officer.

The officer is being detained at Oyugis police station as a manhunt for the remaining two suspects in connection with the murder is ongoing.
