The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has begun restoration works on the Madogo-Garissa road, which was severed by a washout at Kona Punda near Maroro.

In a statement on Thursday, November 30, the agency acknowledged the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for being patient.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority notifies the public that works are underway to fix the damages at Kona Punda. This follows the fact that water levels have subsided along Madogo – Garissa Road,” the statement read.

The highway agency assured the public that it is actively engaged in the process of restoring traffic flow along the critical route.

“Kenya National Highways Authority is actively working on restoring traffic flow along Madogo – Garissa Road. The Authority appreciates the patience of the residents as the Authority works towards restoring seamless connectivity,” the authority stated.
