The Kenya Meteorological Department has released its weather forecast for the next five days, from Saturday, September 14, 2024, to Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
General Outlook:
– Most of the country is expected to be generally sunny and dry.
– Light to moderate rainfall may occur in a few areas, including the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and parts of the Rift Valley.
Nairobi:
– Nairobi will experience sunny conditions throughout the day with partly cloudy intervals in the evening.
– The likelihood of rainfall is minimal.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley:
– Regions such as Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi Counties will have similar weather to Nairobi, with mostly sunny conditions and occasional clouds.
Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Rift Valley:
– Areas including Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot Counties will see sunny intervals with showers and thunderstorms.
– Evenings will generally be partly cloudy.
Coastal Region:
– In Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, expect sunny intervals with high temperatures throughout the day.
– Some areas may experience light showers.
Other Areas:
– South-Eastern Lowlands: Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties will experience sunny intervals and partly cloudy conditions in the evening. No rainfall is expected in these areas.
– North-Eastern: Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties are also forecasted to remain dry with no rainfall expected over the next five days.
