Kenya dethroned hosts India to win the Men’s Roll ball world cup in a tense and terse final played at Shri Shiv Chatrapatti Sports Complex,Pune India.
Kenya won the entertaining final 7-4 to claim their first world title after five previous failed attempts.
Kenya led led 4-2 at halftime but India returnmed a rejuvenated side and thretened to snatch the win after scoring two quick goals to level the scores 4-4.
Kenya launched relentless attacks and soon found the back of the net to score the fifth goal and would soon add a sixth to steer clear of their rivals whose offensive efforts were thwarted by a studios Kenyan goalkeeper Moses Atenya.
Kenya assured themselves of the trophy with a seventh goal in the dying minutes of the encounter with India offering little resistance to all but succumb to the agonizing defeat at home.
The men’s win completes Kenya’s double triumph after the Kenyan women’s team beat Egypt to claim the title in yesterday final.
