Kenyan attacker part of Saint-Éloi Lupopo squad in Zambia for Confederations Cup preps

Kenyan forward Sydney Lokale is among the Saint-Éloi Lupopo squad members who have embarked on a pre-season tour to Zambia in preparation for the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup and the upcoming new season.

Lokale, one of the ten attackers, has made the trip with the squad to Zambia this week. Head Coach Magassouba has finalized a selection of 34 players for the journey, and additional players are expected to join the team later during the week.

The DR Congo team confirmed their participation in the Zambia training camp by announcing the list of traveling squad members. They are scheduled to conduct their training camp in Ndola.

In an official statement, the club conveyed, “The squad for the training camp in Zambia has been determined! Coach Magassouba has handpicked a group of 34 players for the preparatory camp in Ndola, Zambia.”

“The squad, led by the Malian coach and his staff, currently comprises 34 players. Tomandzoto, Bayanho, and other players will also be integrated to finalize the roster by Friday at the latest,” the club stated.

Lokale and his fellow teammates are gearing up for the CAF Confederation Cup, where their team is poised to kick off their campaign against the winner between Sekhukhune United and Young Buffaloes. Additionally, their league season is scheduled to commence in September.

Prior to his move to the DR Congo, Lokale showcased his talents in the FKF Premier League, representing teams such as Kariobangi Sharks and KCB. He also had a stint with the Finnish club HIFK.
