Radio presenter and stand-up comedian Francis Munyao, widely known as MCA Tricky, has criticised the Kenyan leaders over the recurring flooding in Nairobi County, questioning why residents continue to suffer despite paying significant taxes.

Reacting to the ongoing floods that have disrupted transport and daily activities across the capital, Tricky, in a video shared on his official Instagram account on Saturday, March 7, 2026, expressed frustration over what he described as a cycle of disasters that Kenyans endure every time heavy rains hit the city.

The comedian also appeared to take a swipe at political leaders who often visit affected areas during crises.

He remarked that Kenyans would soon see the political class standing on top of vehicles, addressing residents and promising solutions, a scene that commonly unfolds during campaign seasons or emergencies.

“Kenyans pay a lot of taxes for them to go through this painful cycle of calamities ! You will see them on top of heavy vehicles from now on, telling you what you want to hear,” Tricky said.

Tricky further questioned why flooding remains a persistent problem in the capital, asking how expensive it would be to properly manage drainage systems and control the degree of flooding in a major city like Nairobi.

“KWANI, HOW EXPENSIVE IS IT TO MANAGE THE DEGREE OF FLOODING IN A CAPITAL CITY?” he questioned.

Floods in Nairobi

Tricky concerns come as videos and images circulating on social media show motorists wading through waterlogged roads and cars partially submerged in floodwaters, highlighting the scale of disruption caused by the rains.

The flooding caused massive traffic jams in key areas within the Nairobi Metropolitan, disrupting the evening commutes.
