Kenyans have been buzzing with curiosity after Charlene Ruto and her Tanzanian fiancé, Isaya Yunge, were spotted together at a wedding in Kericho, prompting many to wonder whether the entrepreneur has quietly made Kenya his new home.
Footage from the ceremony, which circulated widely on TikTok and Facebook, showed the couple arriving hand-in-hand and spending the event side by side, interacting warmly with guests throughout the service. The comments sections were quickly flooded with one recurring question: has Isaya moved to Kenya?
Who Is Isaya Yunge?
Isaya, born on 23 March 1990 in Mwanza, Tanzania, is the founder of SomaApps Technologies and remains deeply embedded in Tanzania’s business landscape. His family, also based in Mwanza, made the trip to Kenya for the couple’s traditional Koito ak Chaik engagement ceremony, which was held at the Ruto family’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris on 8 August 2026.
At the Koito celebration, President William Ruto declared that Isaya’s family had become one with his own, a moment that drew widespread attention and cemented the union in the public eye.
Where Are the Two Based?
Neither Charlene nor Isaya has publicly confirmed any permanent relocation. Charlene continues to be anchored in Nairobi, where she runs her SMACHS Foundation and serves as chairperson of the Weston Hotel board. Isaya, meanwhile, continues to oversee his technology ventures in Tanzania.
The two appear to be navigating a cross-border relationship, splitting time between the two countries in the lead-up to their white wedding, which is reportedly scheduled for Tanzania in October 2026. The recent Kericho outing has, however, given many Kenyans the impression that Isaya is spending increasing amounts of time on this side of the border ahead of the big day.
For now, the speculation remains just that, with no official word from either the couple or their families on any change of residence.
