Kereri beat defending champions Amaiko 1-0 to lift the title as Term One Games entered Day Two at Kisii School. Both teams advanced to the regionals to be held at Kisii School next month.

Kereri coach Ann Maosa said: “We prepared well for this and it wasn’t a fluke. We are now looking forward to participating in the regionals. We have been at the regionals before so the girls are ready.”

She added that they are not scared of powerhouses Sinyolo and regional champions Nyamira Girls.

“We have played them before and lost narrowly. I think this time we are well prepared. We are going to intensify preparations before the regionals,” Maosa added.

In the boys’ category, Nduru Boys coached by Faith Jebet overcame Nyamagwa Boys 3-0 to book a place in the last four while Nyabigena thrashed saw off Riokindo 5-1 to also qualify for the semis.
