Shock and grief engulfed Kap DC Village, Kedowa, after a 35-year-old man murdered his 32-year-old wife in what is believed to be a domestic dispute.
Kedowa Chief John Ngetich confirmed the incident, saying the man, a pastor in one of the churches, killed his wife following a disagreement over unspecified issues.
According to Ngetich, the man struck his wife with a wooden bar before hacking her on the neck, killing her instantly.
He revealed that after murdering her wife, the pastor covered her body on their matrimonial bed and retired to the sitting room for the night.
The administrator stated that the pastor awoke his eldest son early in the morning and instructed him to bring the village elder to the homestead.
The son heeded the father’s instructions and went to inform the village elder that his father was calling him.
When the village elder arrived, the pastor told him that he had a disagreement with his wife and had hit her the night before, but he wasn’t sure if she was still alive and asked him to go check on her in the bedroom.
The village elder went to check on the woman who was covered in blood, only to discover that she had died.
The village elder then informed the chief, who rushed to the scene and discovered that the woman had already succumbed.
The chief later reported the matter at Londiani police station, where police officers rushed to the scene, removed the body and took it to Londiani sub county hospital mortuary.
The pastor was also arrested and taken to the same station where he was being held while awaiting to be arraigned in court.
Ngetich advised the couples to look for amicable solutions to their problems instead of resorting to killing themselves.
