Kericho; Woman, 15-Year-Old Son Arrested As Husband Stabbed To Death

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband to death in Kericho.

Residents said the incident which happened in Kiptaldal village in Waldai, Belgut sub county saw the woman reportedly attack her 49-year-old husband over a family squabble.

Area Chief John Koech said the deceased, identified as Caleb Rugut, arrived home and started quarrelling with his wife, Irene Rugut.

The quarrel escalated into a physical confrontation between the two. In the process, the woman is said to have picked a kitchen knife and stabbed her husband in the chest, killing him on the spot.

The incident was reported at Kapsoit police station and the man’s body was taken to Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, the couple’s 15-year-old son was also taken in for questioning.
