Police officers in Karinde, Kiambu County have discovered the bodies of a couple who are believed to have died by suspected suicide.

According to a police report on Sunday, the decomposing bodies were found inside the house as the man was hanging by an electricity cable and the woman lying on the floor.

An infant of about one and a half years was found lying beside the deceased mother and was rushed to Mutuini Hospital within the area for treatment.

Officers who arrived at the scene found the man’s identity card in his pocket, identifying him as Reuben Ndede. The identity of his said wife remains unknown.

Police authorities believe that the man killed his wife before hanging himself.

The bodies have been taken to Nairobi City Morgue awaiting postmortem pending further investigations.
