Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Baringo County residents free and fair nominations for the United Democratic Alliance ticket for the coming Senate by-election.

The DP said the ruling party will ensure the will of voters is captured and respected during the UDA primaries.

“I humbly request you to support UDA’s candidate during the by-elections. I assure you the nominations will be free and fair nominations and we will fully support the winner so we can retain the seat,” DP said.

The Deputy President who spoke on Sunday at Baringo North Economic Empowerment engagement in Kabartonjo, Baringo County, called on interested candidates to conduct themselves peacefully as they seek the party’s ticket assuring losers will be considered for other government jobs.

“We will come here to campaign for the one who will win and the losers will not be discarded without any support,” he added.

The seat was left vacant following the death of Senator William Cheptumo early this year.

The DP also praised ongoing efforts to fully restore peace in the County and other areas in the North Rift saying the aim is to ensure 100 percent peaceful coexistence in the area.

The DP said he will continue to assist the President deliver the nation’s development agenda revealing he has been his political student for many years.

“My work is to assist the President to realize national development and it is a role I cherish and serve with dignity and humility because that is how it should be,” he added.

For his loyalty to the President, the DP was blessed by Tugen elders from Baringo North who pleaded with him to continue serving with respect to also get a chance to lead the nation in the future.
