Police in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County have arrested a 70-year-old man suspected of stabbing to death his son following a land dispute.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the incident took place in the Guama location of Karumandi ward where one Francis Njagi is suspected of stabbing his son James Muobe, 32, in the chest seriously injuring him.

“There was a fierce argument between the diseased and his father about land matters whereby the father stabbed the son in the chest seriously injuring him,” part of the police report reads.

The report further indicates that the deceased was rushed to Kianyaga Sub-County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body of the diseased was moved to the Kerugoya morgue awaiting postmortem.

The murder weapon was recovered as police launched further investigation into the matter.
