Tenants of a residential place in Kagio town, Kirinyaga County were on Sunday night shocked after the body of a 40-year-old woman was found in a bathroom.
According to the tenants led by Peter Wamugunda, the naked body of the woman was discovered by one of the tenants who had gone to the bathroom. The tenant immediately raised an alarm.
According to the family members led by Joyce Wangari, the woman who is a mother of two had stayed at the rented house for only a week after her husband from Nairobi rented the house.
“I am the one who advised them to rent a house at Kagio after the high cost of living in Nairobi. She is a mother of two and has stayed here for just a week and her husband is coming right now from Nairobi,” Wangari said.
Shocked tenants said the woman had spent the whole of Sunday sweeping the plot.
“She was a very good woman. She spent the whole of yesterday sweeping this plot but we are shocked to see her lifeless body in a bathroom 20 meters away from her house,” Lilian Wambui said.
Mwea-west sub-county police have launched an investigation to establish what killed the woman.
“We will know the cause of her death after postmortem,” Sammy Beauttah said.
The deceased’s body was taken to Kibugi funeral home awaiting postmortem.
