A magistrate stationed at Kisumu’s Winam Law Courts has sentenced John Ondera to life imprisonment for defiling his 3-year-old daughter.
The prosecution, led by Mwende Kavindu presented 6 witnesses to prove the case against the accused person.
While delivering his judgment, Principal Magistrate, Chrispine Oruo, noted that he relied on several arguments to sentence the offender including his being a relative to the victim, the victim’s age, and the medical report from the doctor which he said informed the decision on the nature and duration of the sentence.
Elsewhere an Eldoret court sentenced John Wamwanji, aged 36, to 15 years imprisonment for sodomizing a child aged 15 yrs.
The prosecution called four witnesses in the matter
“It is alleged that the accused intoxicated the victim by giving him alcohol & then sodomized him,” the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP) said.
And in Kikuyu, a middle-aged man was Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment at the Kikuyu Law Court for defiling a 5-year-old girl.
