Property of unknown value was destroyed after a house was razed down in Shauri Moyo Administration Police (AP) camp in Kisumu.
Nyanza Regional police boss Karanja Muiruri said all the occupants escaped unscathed. Preliminary investigations show that the fire was caused by a candle.
“The house belongs to one of the officers at the AP line. We have launched a probe into the incident,” Muiruri said.
The family of the officer, who was on duty, were in the house at the time. They managed to escape soon as the fire broke out.
Firefighters from the county helped put out the fire, averting it from spreading to adjacent units.
