Collins Oyuu, Secretary General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), was involved in a road accident in Kisumu County on Monday morning near Kombewa on the Bondo-Kisumu route.

According to Nyanza Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer RTEO Allan Mwangi, Oyuu’s car overturned while avoiding a cyclist as he rushed to catch a flight at Kisumu International Airport.

Mr. Mwangi added that both Oyuu and his driver managed to escape unhurt, but the cyclist was, however, injured.

Further investigations are underway.
