Police in Chemelil, located in Muhoroni, Kisumu County are detaining a man accused of hacking his wife to death following a domestic squabble.

The lifeless body of the deceased, identified as Christine Akinyi, was found lying in a pool of blood in their home within Pawteng’ village in Awasi.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, their 17-year-old daughter said that her mother had gone out to receive a phone call when an argument ensued.

Police said the suspect identified as Paul Waore Okello is said to have used a panga to attack his wife.

According to the authorities, the deceased suffered deep cut wounds on the back of her head, hands and legs before bleeding to death.

The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to take his own life before he was apprehended by police and locked up at Chemelil police station.
