One person is admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) with a gunshot wound following Monday’s anti-gov’t demonstrations.

JOOTRH Administrator Alex Ochieng says the patient was shot in the chest but is now in stable condition.

Ochieng says an x-ray of the gunshot wound showed pellets in the chest adding that the patient will require further review and surgery.

Ochieng says another death was also reported at the facility morgue. A man who was lynched by a mob for allegedly attempting to snatch someone’s phone in Migosi area.

The death brings the number of fatalities to two as a result of the demos. Another man was shot dead by police in the Kondele area amid the demos.

Ochieng says the JOOTRH casualty section received a total of 12 patients as a result of the demos, two being stab wounds while nine had other injuries.
