Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) defended the men and women’s national basketball league titles after closing down the final series in Mombasa this weekend.

Their women’s team completed a sweep of first timers Zetech University winning Game Three 68-43 on Saturday.

The dockers had earlier on last weekend won both game one and two in convincing 30-point margins in Nairobi, and the third of five games of the final series ended in their favour to close out the defense of their title.

And on Sunday evening, their men’s team won the best of five series 3-1 against Equity Dumas, after winning game four 68-56 at the Makande Gymnasium.

Equity had rallied to beat KPA by a basket in Game Two in Nairobi last weekend having lost game one, but the dockers have used maximum advantage of their home court to win game three and four to retain their crown.

Eugene Adera starred for the dockers in Game Four as he sunk 23 points, with Faheem Juma accounting for 17 in Equity’s side.

The dockers clinched their ninth league title and will represent Kenya in next season’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
