Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Karagu Kimani, widely known as KRG The Don, has revealed that if he is elected Nairobi Senator, he would like to work with Babu Owino as governor.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, KRG commended the Embakasi Member of Parliament (MP) for his performance, leadership and service delivery in his constituency.
“Mimi mkiniletea Babu Owino tutafanya kazi mzuri. Because he has delivered for the people of Embakasi na ni rafiki wangu wa karibu,” KRG explained.
He further explained that collaboration between elected leaders is key to ensuring services reach Nairobi residents.
“Mimi kwa leadership yangu sikuji kutafuta vitina na gavana wangu ama MCAs ama wabunge, ninakuja tushikane ili tuwe team moja ndio tuweze kudeliver services inakuwa rahisi,” he added.

Senatorial bid
On Monday, November 24, 2025, KRG the Don officially reaffirmed his intention to run for Nairobi Senator in the 2027 General Elections.
Taking to his official Instagram account, he urged Nairobi residents to register as voters, saying their votes will determine the future of the city. KRG said that he understands the struggles of Nairobians and believes it is time for change in leadership.
“Take some time off your busy schedule and register as a voter kwa sababu hio kura yako ndio itachange mambo yetu sote in 2027 General elections. Wakazi wa Nairobi, mbele yenu ni kijana wenu, round hii nimekuja kuwaambia wakazi wa Nairobi, vijana, akina mama wa Nairobi. Mjitokeze kwa wingi mwende mkate kura,” he said.

He further highlighted challenges residents have faced under past leadership, claiming that previous leaders have neglected the needs of the people and promised to fix them once elected.
“Najua mmeteseka sana hii Nairobi yetu kwa viongozi ambao hawatupendi sisi. Wanapenda tu mambo yao. Hawajali sisi tunapitia shida gani kama wakaaji wa Nairobi. Hawaelewi shida zetu kwa sababu sio watu wa hapa, ni watu walitoka sijui hapa. Tumechoka na hiyo maneno,” KRG promised.
In addition, KRG positioned himself as a candidate who is familiar with Nairobi’s problems and ready to work alongside residents to bring meaningful solutions.
“Mimi kama kijana wenu niko tayari kuwatumikia pamoja na nyinyi tushikane. Tunajua shida za Nairobi. Na shida za watu wa Nairobi haziwezi tatuliwa na watu ambao hawakai huku. Tuchange Nairobi yetu,” he said.
