Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has picked a new captain after Nacho Fernandez left the club as a free agent this summer.

Nacho is set to sign for newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsia.

According to COPE, Ancelotti has installed veteran midfielder Luka Modric as the new Real skipper.

Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez will be handed the vice-captaincy roles.

Los Blancos still have a lot of experience within their squad, but have lost two key players in Nacho and the retiring Toni Kroos.

This is the fourth consecutive year Real will lose their captain after the departures of Marcelo, Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos.
