Joao Felix did not request for the Barcelona no.10 shirt after joining the LaLiga champions on loan from Atletico Madrid.
The Portugal international will spend the 2023/2024 season at the Nou Camp.
Having sealed a temporary move to Barca, Felix arrived to find the no.10 shirt vacant, because Ansu Fati had joined Brighton on loan.
But according to SPORT, Felix rejected the chance to wear the iconic shirt, as he did not want to be compared with former favourites at the club.
The 23-year-old wants to prove his worth and make a name for himself at Barcelona.
Instead he will wear no.14 as he seeks to revive his career.
Felix struggled to make the expected impact at Atleti on the back of his €126million switch from Benfica in 2019 and spent the second-half of last season on loan at Chelsea.
