The body of a 48-year-old man who was abducted from his home by unknown assailants on Tuesday, November 5, in Poromoko Area of Lamu County, has been discovered dumped outside his home.

Muthemi Funga was abducted in the presence of his wife and children, according to a police report.

This prompted his wife to report the abduction to authorities at Kibaoni Police Station, who soon discovered Muthemi’s dead body near Jima forest after conducting a search.

In confirming the incident, Lamu County Commissioner Luis Rono clarified that it was a criminal case and not related to terrorism.

”This is not a terror related case we are fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring a sense of security to the affected community,” Rono stated.

In addition, the Commissioner further said that investigations were underway.

The incident follows a recent similar incident in the county in which a 65-year-old Thuo Mwenje, a resident of the Marafa area in Mkunumbi ward, met a similar fate.
