New details continue to emerge regarding the incident involving Uhuru’s son yesterday evening. Presently, it has been confirmed that the officers dispatched to Uhuru’s son’s residence were acting on instructions from the person responsible for gun licensing, Yakub Rashid. Yakub Rashid is reported to have demanded that Uhuru’s family surrender a total of 28 guns they possess. However, the exact reason behind Yakub Rashid’s request remains unknown at this time.
According to a secret footage by NTV, the first officer who arrived is seen talking to the security. The security went in for 4 minutes and came out later. The officer later left the car and was seen talking to the security and was later seen reading book of licensed firearms.
Uhuru himself confirmed that all the guns owned by his family are legally acquired and they adhered to all the necessary requirements to obtain them. Expressing deep frustration, Uhuru questioned why his family is being targeted suggesting that it may be due to the political disputes he has with certain individuals. The officers reportedly conducted the operation around 5 pm.
This incident occurred just a few days after the government withdrew security for Mama Ngina, Uhuru’s mother. In response, Uhuru urged the government to revoke all police protection provided to his family if they deemed it necessary.
