Public university lecturers have threatened to protest over delayed capitation to universities.

In a letter addressed to Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, the dons said they will not tolerate any delays.

“The union condemns in the strongest terms possible the consistent delays in the release of capitation and salaries,” the statement reads.

The statement was signed by Universities’ Academic Staff Union Secretary General Constantine Wasonga on March 14, 2023.

Wasonga said the delay has caused embarrassment and disrespect to the academic staff.

“Take notice that if the capitation and salaries are not released immediately the union shall call on all its members to protest,” Wasonga said.

The SG explained that lecturers have not been paid even up to the 14th of this month
