List of areas scheduled for power blackout on Thursday

Kenya Power issued a notice informing Kenyans of the scheduled power blackout in select parts of the country on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Elgeyo MarakwetNandiNyeriKiambuKirinyaga

The utility firm in a notice on its website said that the power interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrade power lines to the network.

Kenya Power noted that the Thursday power interruption will affect Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nyeri, Kiambu and Kirinyaga Counties.

Elgeyo Marakwet

Parts of Elgeyo Marakwet County will be in blackout for two hours from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Murkutwo, Chesongoch, Kapkobil, Kabetwa, Tot, Tot Mango Factory, Soko Bora, Barberi, Chebilil, Sangach, Samballat, Liter & adjacent customers.

Nandi

Parts of Nandi County will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Kapchebisir, Tulon, Kapkagaron, Kipchuno, Tulon Sec, Lolmengengai, Tulon Quarry, Lutieti & adjacent customers.

Nyeri

Parts of Nyeri County will not have electricity supply from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Gikondi, Muthuthini, Kaharo & adjacent customers

Kiambu

Parts of Kiambu County will be in blackout from 9:00 to 5:00 pm.

The areas affected include; Kisii Est, Leather Industries, Landless, Thika Barracks, Macheo, Gatuanyaga, Salama, Pakjel & adjacent customers.

Other areas include; Farmers Choice Factory, Palak Steel Mills, Carbacid Fact, Kijabe Boys, Kijabe Hosp, Uplands Police Stn, Nyambare, Githironi, Nyamweru, Murengeti, Mutosi, Kinyogori, Gititha, Kimeende, Lari, Magina, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kamae, Mathore, Kijabe, Escarpment, Kabunge, Kijabe & adjacent customers.

Kirinyaga

Parts of Kirinyaga County will be in blackout from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The affected areas include; Thiba Pri & Sec, Thiba Maendeleo, Thiba Soweto, Thiba North, Thiba South, Thiba H/Center, Thiba Chief’s Camp, Karima, Mbui Njeru, Rurumi Block & adjacent customers.
